Worcester, MA - Highlighting the extensive and varied collaborations between its 13 member institutions, the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, Inc. has released its 2008-2009 Annual Report: The Way a Team Plays Determines Its Success.Through 30-plus Consortium committees in the areas of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs and Administration and Finance, more than 400 administrators, faculty and students have worked together to identify shared areas of concern and opportunities to further enhance their institutional missions. This level of collaboration coincides with the Consortium's mission of "working cooperatively both to further the missions of the member institutions individually and to enhance higher education regionally."
Challenged by the recent economic crisis, member institutions continue to utilize Consortium committees as cost-effective and efficient ways to mitigate any possible interruptions caused by revenue shortfalls. At the same time, they continue to search for opportunities that benefit both their campuses and the community at large.
"All three of our focus areas: shared academic and administrative services; higher education access for disadvantaged students and adults; and local economic development and civic engagement opportunities made great strides in 2008-2009," said Consortium Chief Executive Officer Mark P. Bilotta.
