Worcester, MA - The Colleges of Worcester Consortium, Inc. has named Karen L. Manson, Director of Student Affairs, and Michael J. Vigneux, Director of Public Affairs.
Both full-time positions are designed to increase the overall visibility of the Consortium and to enhance services offered to students at its member institutions.
“Both Karen and Michael bring great experience to the Consortium,” said Chief Executive Officer Mark Bilotta. “With their passion for higher education in central Massachusetts, we’re sure to enhance our students’ academic and social opportunities in meaningful ways while promoting Worcester and the region as a true premier destination for college students.”
Manson will be responsible for the delivery and oversight of Consortium activities that enrich students’ experiences while matriculating at member colleges and universities, including the Consortium’s new online internship database. She previously spent six years as a student activities administrator at Assumption College, most recently as associate director. She earned an M.A. in Teaching with a concentration in Student Leadership from Sacred Heart University in 2000 and a B.A. in English with teacher certification from Plymouth State College in 1998.
In his role as Director of Public Affairs, Vigneux will work at the local, regional and national levels to enhance the image of the Consortium, its college and university members, as well as Worcester and the region. Vigneux most recently served as Assistant Director of Public Affairs at Assumption College after spending four years in sports information at the University of Hartford and Brown University. He earned a B.A. in Communication and Culture from Clark University in 2001.
The Colleges of Worcester Consortium, Inc. is a 39-year-old alliance of 13 area colleges that works cooperatively both to further the missions of the member institutions individually and to advance higher education regionally. Member institutions are: Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Atlantic Union College, Becker College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Nichols College, Quinsigamond Community College, Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Worcester State College.
