Worcester Residence Life Network hosts conference at WPI

October 28, 2009 Worcester, MA - The Worcester Residence Life Network (WRLN) held its 2009 conference "Get the Picture: Create Your Own RA Image," at Worcester Polytechnic Institute on October 25.
A total of 153 resident assistants and 27 professional staff attended from seven Consortium institutions. Topics covered at the conference included: diversity, social issues, mediation, programming, advertising, wellness/balance, stress/time management, social networking and leadership.
WRLN is dedicated to the professional and social development of professionals and para-professionals at Consortium institutions who provide services to residential students. Through monthly meetings, WRLN offers a wide variety of opportunities including professional development, networking, and the sharing of best practices. WRLN's mentoring program connects new professionals with mid-level to senior level administrators within the Consortium.

The Consortium operates a management certificate program and stand alone trainings which are designed to enhance the skills of managers and supervisors at its member institutions. More than 250 individuals participate annually in approximately 20 stand alone training workshops.
