OWL luncheon held at Worcester Senior Center

Granddaughter of Sigmund Freud delivers keynote address

OWl LuncheonWorcester, MA - The Central Massachusetts Older Women's League (OWL) held its annual spring chapter luncheon on Thursday, April 24 at the Worcester Senior Center. The event was co-sponsored by the Consortium Gerontology Studies Program, Clark University and Towson University.

Sophie Freud, PhD., granddaughter of Sigmund Freud and social work educator, presented a keynote address entitled, "Important Relationships in Old Age: Some Reflections by a Very Old Professor." Freud is the author of Living in the Shadow of the Freud Family and My Three Mothers and Other Passions. Dr. Freud shared her insights on being a woman in the famous Freud family and discussed issues related to growing old at a time when women are redefining their own aging.
