GEAR UP grad chosen for Young Leader Award
Holy Cross student to be honored February 9

February 2, 2010 Worcester, MA - Yachira Torres, a graduate of the Consortium's GEAR UP program and a senior at the College of the Holy Cross, has been selected for the Young Leader Award as part of the Telegram & Gazette's Visions Awards.
Torres was chosen for her work as a mentor in the Collegiate Success Initiative (CSI) at North High School which prepares economically challenged students for college and the workforce. The Visions Awards will be presented at 4 p.m. on February 9 at Mechanics Hall.
