Worcester, MA - The first-ever Collegetown Jazz Fest will be held at Clark University on Wednesday, February 27 at 8 p.m. in The Grind, located in the Higgins University Center.
This event, free and open to the public, features jazz combos from Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The headlining act is Evan Goodrow, jazz guitarist and singer.
Music Worcester, Inc. has connected the Collegetown Jazz Fest with upcoming concerts of the Monterey Jazz Festival 50th Anniversary Tour band (Tuesday, February 26 - Mechanics Hall) and Kendrick Oliver's New Life Jazz Orchestra (Saturday, March 1 - Tuckerman Hall) to create a weeklong series of jazz events in the city. Discounted tickets are available to students for both the February 26 and March 1 concerts.
