CGSP hosts graduation ceremony

CGSP student ambassadorsWorcester, MA - Nine students from four institutions were honored at the 28th annual graduation ceremony of the Consortium Gerontology Studies Program (CGSP) held at Worcester State College.

The event began with gathering music provided by the internationally known Worcester State College Chorale, under the direction of Paulo Gomes. CGSP Director Kelly Niles-Yokum, PhD then provided a brief welcome before introducing keynote speaker Kathleen A. Bowler, College of the Holy Cross/CGSP '80, executive director, Holyoke Council on Aging.

The awarding of individual certificates was conducted by CGSP faculty and the Sol Boskind Award and Rosalie S. Wolf Award were presented by Jo Ellen Boskind, MSW and Gary L. Wolf, MD. Closing remarks were offered by Maureen Power, PhD, professor of Urban Studies, Worcester State College.

About the Consortium Gerontology Studies Program:

The CGSP is a cooperative academic program of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, Inc. CGSP students from four Consortium institutions (Assumption College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, and Worcester State College) engage in the interdisciplinary study of aging and earn a Certificate in Gerontology along with their bachelor's degree. Students in the program work with dedicated faculty and have access to supportive internship and community partners. Established in 1978, the CGSP marks its 30th anniversary in 2008.
