2012 - Worcester's Year of Sports
Worcester certainly has its fair share of NCAA Division I, II and III teams*. Combine that with the Worcester Tornadoes and Worcester Sharks and it looks like an impressive sports town. Add the new Worcester Hydra FC who has joined the United Soccer League's PDL for the 2012 season and the Worcester County Wildcats, a minor league football team, and the local sports scene looks even stronger. Yet 2012 is shaping up to be even more impressive, given the number of large sporting events scheduled this year.
