This session focuses on some Word features that end users might not even be aware of. A basic knowledge of Microsoft Word (any version) is necessary for this session. Here are some of the features covered: How can I setup Word so that when I when I save a file it automatically saves to my most frequently used location? How does AutoText work? How can I quickly copy formatting from one location to another? How do I setup Tabs? How do I use the AutoCorrect option? And more...

"Excel Basics 2007" (College Community Only)

Assumption College: Information Technology Center, Room 223, Worcester, MA
This workshop will consist of working with data and text in excel - making the spreadsheet presentable by changing font size and type, adding borders and color to cells, changing column width and row height, merging cells, applying number formats, freezing and unfreezing rows and columns, hiding and un-hiding columns. We will create some basic formulas such as entering a function into a cell, using the auto-sum button to quickly total the contents of any row or column of cells sum, average, maximum and minimum functions and if statements. We will sort and filter data.
Some interesting tips and tricks will be explored.

Outline: This presentation will discuss the legal landscape of the hiring process, and best practices for avoiding lawsuits.
Program Content: The hiring process is fraught with legal issues. Employers need to know how to navigate the hiring process so that they can make good hires while avoiding lawsuits. This seminar will teach HR professionals and hiring managers the basics of employment discrimination law, and focus on how good hiring practices and compliance with the law can go hand in hand.
