This full-day conference will address alarming trends in college students' substance abuse on campus, including the use/misuse of legally prescribed drugs, over-the-counter medications, and illegal substances. Jose R. Lemos, PhD of UMass Medical School will present a keynote address on "Drugs of Abuse and the Brain." Janina Kean, MS, APRN of High Watch Recovery Center will speak at lunch on "Their Brains Never Had a Chance." A panel of local experts will address "Perspectives from the Field: Substance Abuse on College Campuses." Afternoon break-out sessions will cover a variety of related topics.
