With a stake in the economic health of the region, Consortium member institutions seek, whenever possible, to purchase goods and services from Worcester and central Massachusetts businesses. To help connect Worcester County businesses with the many purchasers on its 13 campuses, the Consortium maintains the Worcester County Vendor Database where businesses can submit information about their products and services. The database is available to purchasers on the campuses who are looking for local vendors.
In addition, area businesses may want to bid on the contracts offered by the Consortium Purchasing Group. The Purchasing Group, which is comprised of public and private nonprofit institutions with an educational mission, identifies goods and services used in quantity by its members (such as bottled water, fuel oil, office supplies, vehicle rentals, etc.) and negotiates joint purchase contracts to benefit its members.
