Joint Purchasing

  • The primary objective of the Consortium Purchasing Group (Joint Purchasing) is to establish group purchase agreements for the financial benefit of its members. Through cooperative relationships, the group enables members to make greater use of scarce or limited resources. The group also provides purchasing directors an opportunity to share valuable information, as well as to promote the development and implementation of effective purchasing management.

The Consortium Purchasing Group currently has agreements for the following products:

  • Coffee Service
  • Computer Technology
  • Copier Paper
  • Document Shredding
  • Electric Lights
  • Envelopes
  • Ice Melt Products
  • Local Vendors
  • Office Furniture
  • Office Supplies
  • Pagers
  • Paper Towels/Tissues
  • Trash Can Liners
  • Transportation
  • Typewriter Maintenance

Vendors may bid on open agreements.

Joining the Joint Purchasing Group

If you are interested in joining the Joint Purchasing Group, the following applies:

Membership shall be open to public and private nonprofit institutions with an educational mission. Members of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, Inc. are automatically guaranteed membership in the Colleges of Worcester Consortium Purchasing Group (JPG).

The following conditions for members are stipulated in the current bylaws:

  • A representative from each member organization must be present at a minimum of four meetings annually and will participate in agreement development and/or subcommittees as requested by the Consortium JPG chair. Failure to attend four meetings annually will result in expulsion from the Colleges of Worcester Consortium Purchasing Group.
  • Member organizations must show a willingness to participate in the Consortium JPG agreements.
  • Member institutions of the Consortium JPG shall pay yearly dues to be determined on an annual basis.

A copy of the organization's bylaws must accompany requests for membership. If your organization is interested in joining please send a letter of interest, bylaws and any material on your organization to:
