The Educatonal Talent Search and GEAR UP programs serve 2,000 students a year in Worcester's public high schools and Worcester East Middle School.
Community Agencies & Organizations
The Worcester EOC (Educational Opportunity Center) provides on-site college access presentations and staff informational workshops at agencies and organizations throughout the region. Some of the workshop topics include:
- Career Planning (appropriate for adults contemplating career change or enhancement)
- Financial Aid Application Process (appropriate for adults exploring sources of financial for themselves and/or their children)
- College Survival Skills (appropriate for assisting adults in adjusting to college and identifying support resources)
- Internet Resources for Students and Parents (appropriate for guiding participants through the electronic information maze)
- Early Planning for College (appropriate for employees planning for the college education of their children)
The EOC also provides a comprehensive, on-site training for agency staff involved in counseling students about postsecondary education opportunities and access. Presentations are approximately one hour long.
